The GE2.0 ‘final’ symposium was held at QUT Kelvin Grove campus on 10 February 2016. A total of 113 educators attended. I gave a summative presentation that summarised and reflected upon the key findings and contributions of the fellowship, and then facilitated two Connectedness Learning workshops with teachers who wanted to trial the toolkit for their diverse educational contexts.
The work of the fellowship will continue, even though we are reaching the end of the funded period. Some upcoming engagements in March include:
– 9th March 2017: seminar and workshop with QUT LTU staff
– 17th-18th March 2017: workshops with sessional staff and course leaders at the University of the Sunshine Coast, and a keynote presentation
– 27th March 2017: a presentation and workshop at the University of Southern Queensland.
I am also about to launch phase 4 of the fellowship, which will involve in-depth work with selected teams from 6-7 different higher education institutions, embedding connectedness learning into their curricula and practices. Watch this space for a call for expressions of interest!
